Petra
The rose-red city carved in rock, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Petra is an ancient Nabataean city in southern Jordan, carved into rose-red rock. Dating to the 4th century BC, visitors enter through the Siq to the Treasury, then the Roman Theatre, Colonnaded Street and numerous temples and tombs. The Monastery at the top is a highlight. It is one of the New Seven Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
